Guess those predictions were spot on.

A hat trick by Jozy Altidore sliced away even more hope of Trinidad and Tobago qualifying for the 2nd time for the South Africa World Cup in 2010 and made him the youngest American to score an international hat-trick.

Its the same old story for the T&T team, poor defense, poor coaching, bad passing, bad possession, no organization, little to no runs at or shots on goal = epic fail.

Stern John did his best of just missing every single chance he has. I am quite certain that my can of shaving cream may have been more effective in Stern’s position.

Dwight Yorke was carded out of the game, which means there was effectively no leader, and thus even more mayhem in midfield than usual. For the entire first half it was just watching 11 T&T players run all over the field.

To top that off was Coach Maturana’s absolute random decisions. He takes off a key midfielder, Chris Birchall, to bring on Makan Hislop, a defender, who can’t even defend properly. This was exemplified as the 2 goals came in the second half. The third involved some serious ball-watching by atleast 3 of the defenders around Altidore.

T&T is now in a position where they must win or draw all of their remaining games and hope for fortuitous upsets within the group.

It really makes me wonder how bad does Maturana have to fail in order for him to be sacked??
