Woman Jumps Off Cliff to Escape Rape Assault

This is an amazing story from the Trinidad Guardian about a woman who jumped off a cliff to

escape a group of men who robbed, assaulted her and were about to rape her.

Yet another example of the totally out of control crime situation in Trinidad. The woman was jogging along St. John’s road in St. Augustine, East Trinidad when she was approached by the attackers. After her ordeal rolling into the bushes to escape them, fighting through trees and vine to safety and going to the nearby police station, she amazingly saw what could have been her if not for her brave, determined actions to escape….a young woman who had been raped after being around the same road where she was jogging.

Noone is crazy enough to jog in the night in Trinidad, so I’m assuming this was in the day, therefore people are robbing, raping and beating women in broad daylight,

Truly sad and horrifying.

Not to make fun of the young lady or the woman, but I really wish, in my own cynical way, that this picture or seeing these buildings in real-life, along with memories of the Fifth Summit of the Americas held 2 months ago, can help their situation and other crime-affected citizens in some way :
