WTF? Copyright Infringement?
I received the following email a short while ago :
Dear Member:
This is to notify you that we have removed or disabled access to the following material as a result of a third-party notification by priceless entertainment limited claiming that this material is infringing:
Rachel Price – Liming on the Overpass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mueDPyemRY
Please Note: Repeat incidents of copyright infringement will result in the deletion of your account and all videos uploaded to that account. In order to prevent this from happening, please delete any videos to which you do not own the rights, and refrain from uploading additional videos that infringe on the copyrights of others. For more information about YouTube’s copyright policy, please read the Copyright Tips guide.
Trying to access the video now gives you this message :
This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by priceless entertainment limited .
WTF?? How is this copyright infringement? I gave full credit to Ms. Price, and a lot of people if not for me YouTubeing it or blogging about it, would not have seen the video as it was only available on her Facebook page…and its not like the video was on TV or is for sale anyway, nor am I profiting off of it, it was just a “hey this is cool” thing.
I’m assuming “Priceless Entertainment Limited” is her company. Well thats really stupid Ms. Price. Is it because I made fun of your facial expressions? Geez.

I remember that post! To tell you the truth, at the time I was really surprised that you gave that any publicity. I tried listening but found myself wincing and quickly moving on. I couldn’t understand why anyone would subject themselves to an irritating, raucous female with the voice of a canal conch bleating on and on about what exactly?…inanity to the nth power. Is this entertainment? She obviously was loving her material so I guess it served as another fine example of how Trinis can eat their own tata and lick their fingers…on camera. So much trouble in T&T and this is how people continue to waste their time? It must really be yet another sign of our society’s desperate need to escape rather than address reality. I simply refuse to believe that anyone outside of a primary school playground would waste a chuckle over it so I say that we should encourage and cooperate with Priceless Entertainment in its crusade to do the world the wonderful favour of restricting distribution of that swill.
