Well I slacked off on this but its because this is the first time as far as I know that there are multiple leaked betas of one DotA map. There is now a NEW DotA beta leak that is 10x as explosive as the other one.

I think I should apologize for saying fuck Icefrog and everything for making us wait so long, because I understand now that he’s trying to drop an atomic bomb of an update this time around, hence the long wait.

I guess this is the beta testers gift to us to pacify us till the real thing comes out. I know Icefrog says he doesn’t like leaks, and then fanboys rage against the anonymous leakers, but its all good at the end of the day.

On to the review of the NEW leak of DotA 6.60 :

Well the load screen is the same, but now you can see it is described as you having 95 heroes to choose from. Wow, imagine if you never played DotA before and you saw that. Learning curve : forever.

Hero remakes :

Believe it or not Razor has been completely revamped all over again. I believe his story has changed too :

No description given. It seems to be some sort of AOE purge, Shiva’s Guard type effect. Its nice eyecandy and farming with it should be fun as the CD is just 16 seconds. Could be used to initiate a teamfight maybe.

I have no idea WTF this is. You can’t use it on yourself, nor a enemy creep, it says “must target a hero”, which means it could be either allied or enemy. For now it just gives vision. You can cast it on terrain though apparently like I did.

*UPDATE from pUng* -” Static link targets enemy heroes only, creating a chain between you and the other hero, for every second or so, it then transfers damage from the enemy to you (or from you to the enemy?). Durations untested, note that this is NOT channeling.

Unstable Current (passive) :

This may seem like a stupid little passive MS skill like his old skill, but I think this is quite imba. It increases Razor’s movement speed and reflects a static charge whenever targeted, dealing 100 damage and purging the unit briefly.

Whoa. I’m not sure about this as yet, for now I know the damage return doesn’t work on creeps :

Almost died there testing that out. If this skill works on heroes then its totally imba. Sven’s ulti would just be laughed off as it would be purged out when he attacks Razor.

Eye of the Storm (Ultimate)

His ultimate is to summon a cloud above him which strikes ONE random enemy around him, but at a much quicker interval than his old ultimate, Storm Seeker (however that struck multiple enemies at between longer intervals). Between this and the first skill, don’t be surprised to see 10 minute Radiances (which would now be a very sexy item for Razor), Rapiers and other top tier expensive items farmed by the noobiest of players. Damage of this is untested.

The man of the map. Still no story or skill descriptions though but they have names now.

Great Stomp

Now that’s what I call a stomp. This is an AOE stun much like Centaur’s but it looks awesome and the AOE is larger. Only problem is there is a rather long cast delay, similar to Nevermore’s Requiem of Souls. Enemies get a buff called “Great Stomp” without any description (for now) on them, and they don’t get any swirly-swirlies above them but instead some yellow light-thingy, so its seems as if the skill is somehow different from a stun The stun duration CAN be an unbelievable 5-6 seconds, but its length seems to be either random or based on positioning (Thanks to pUng again for this). But ofcourse that is balanced out by the obvious and lengthy cast animation. The potential synergy of this with other heroes is limitless. Centaur, Panda and Chieftain stun = GG. Its scary that this is just his first skill.

Ancestral Spirit

Well, this skill is a little stupid I think. You select a target anywhere on the ground (Cast range is about 800 units or so) and you create a “spirit” of yourself there which moves in the opposite direction which you move. Any enemies close to the spirit get hit a little just like Weaver’s Shukichi skill. The spirit itself is invulnerable just like Storm’s Static Remnant skill. So basically its a mixture of the two. I guess you can use this to harass enemies in lane, farm, and I don’t know, scare people.

*UPDATE* HOLY SHIT. This ancestral spirit thing STOMPS AND STUNS WHEN YOU DO. This skill therefore can be used to fricking :

1) Double your stun damage

2) Kill a whole creep wave

3) Stun FROM A DISTANCE.

4) HARASS IN LANE FROM A DISTANCE

With a Dagger, this skill is just too  sexy. This makes Chieftain the 3rd melee hero that has a ranged pain in the ass skill which you can’t dodge, the first one is Dark Seer’s Vacuum, then Clockwerk’s rocket (you can dodge Kunkka’s torrent, Rexxar’s Axes,  and Pudge’s Hook)

Also, you hurt everything shukuchi-style, while the ghost is out, not just the ghost, and anything touching you and the ghost while you touch eachother also get hurt, each damagesource triggering only once per target. This can deal incredible damage to heroes and completely devastate any creepwave. (Thanks to pUng again)


Natural Order (passive)

Ok, this seems to be a filler skill, like Warlock’s Upheaval (the slow thing) spell, which you just forego and get stats instead. Its a nerfing aura which reduces armor and magic resistance of nearby units. As you can see above the armor reduction isn’t much, and well there’s no simple way of me testing the magic resistance reduction for now to know if this skill is worth getting at all. If the Chieftain were to meet Nevermore in the battlefield, Nevermore activates his “Presence of the Dark Lord” armor reduction, and Chieftain activiates this crap, Nevermore may just die rofling.

* UPDATE* Natural order actually reduces armor by a percentage rather than a fixed amount like I originally thought. As you should know Armor effects magic resistance, so the fact that this shit reduces the TWO of them separately means its powerful as hell and its actually the Chieftain who would die rofling if he faced Nevermore :-(

Earth Splitter (Ultimate)

The Chieftain destroys the ground with his ulti, clearing a path seen above. Nothing happens however…until 2-3 seconds after, all nearby units close to where the path was cleared are slowed, damaged (not by much though) and shifted together close to where the path was orignally cleared, sort of like a delayed effect to Dark Seer’s Vacuum spell.

Tauren’s ultimate looks great but its functionality falls behind Earthshaker’s Fissure, so its a little underwhelming. If I had the choice the best bet is to just level up his first skill and go all stats.

*UPDATE* There is no easy way to confirm this but I’m told that the damage Earthsplitter inflicts is actually 33% of your max health (Ursa style). This therefore guarantees the useful of this skill damage-wise for the whole game. I guess bloodstone would be a good item for TC.

Sniper

6.60 also has a  slight remake of Sniper :

Shrapnel

Shrapnel, Sniper’s first skill is now a ranged, Meepo style poison/DPS and slow. Its therefore ok to get this skill as it would definitely help in team fights and has great synergy with Alchemist’s Acid Spray.

Sven

Sven’s third skill is actually quite cool now. It gives +35 movespeed to yourself and nearby allies and buffs armor.

Other than those mentioned there are no real major hero remakes since the last leaked beta.


Gorgon

I initially missed this because the hero tooltip for Gorgon on the Tavern had her same old skills from 6.59 but these NEW SKILLS were sneaked in :

Chain lightning is now “Mystical Snake”

Cooldown is 14 seconds. Well, it looks like a chain life drain, but it isn’t, matter of fact it just seems to do the same thing as chain lightning (chain damage units) but designed to fit the profile of Medusa, the Gorgon better (where the hell did she get lightning powers from?). I’m sure there is a slight twist to it just being a green chain lightning but I can’t figure it out yet.

And Purge is now “Stone Gaze”

Definitely a buff to Gorgon, cooldown = 25 seconds. All nearby enemies (seems to be all those looking at her, suiting the name apparently) are mini-stunned, purged and slowed for 3-4 seconds. Awesome. Enemies are all given a “Stoned” buff :

This new ulti actually makes Gorgon a decent initiator.

Now for new items :

Poor Man’s Shield

This is my favorite new item. Its basically an anti-harass tool for melee heroes. Void, Axe, Mortred, Panda can all benefit from this early game.

Khadgar’s Pipe of Insight

This works like old Storm’s Magic Barrier skill, it blocks a limited amount of magic damage when activated. This is therefore as essential to Axe as Vanguard.

Quelling Blade

You can last hit creeps better and…cut trees down as you would with a tango….
Seems stupid, but it totally counter’s Furion Tree Sprout skill, and it can work wonders for jungling, juking, escaping and actually, rampant abuse. What the hell am I talking about? Well go Tree Chop your way behind some trees with Vengeful Spirit, wait for them to respawn, then Nether Swap the first non-blinkable, non-TP scroll-carrying  hero you see…

Talisman of Evasion

You’re more likely to miss whoever is wearing this than get Counter-Helixed by Axe…and we know how often you can get counter-helixed, and that’s just 17%. Its now a new requirement for the Butterfly (as if it wasn’t already too expensive), but I think by itself its a great item on heroes like Axe, Mortred, Panda, Void.

Ghost Scepter

I’m hoping this is a joke. Ghost Form, the active ability of this item, makes you invulnerable for 3-4 seconds immune from physical attacks for 3-4 seconds (you cannot attack either for this duration), its therefore Pugna’s skill, Decrepify, but without the MS reduction.  This is basically a poor man’s Lothar’s or Blink, as the enemy cannot hit you PHYSICALLY as you ghost away or ghost in and ulti (right after its deactivated). At such a low cost, I am seriously cringing at the thought of seeing this imba nonsense item being abused.

Its still imba even if it doesn’t make you invulnerable (like I previously thought) if you’re ganking 3-4 heroes who don’t have disables (say Nevermore, Silencer and Void for e.g). Whether or not it reduces or increases your spell resistance (like Decrepify) is yet to be seen however, but this item WOULD be very interesting on a Pugna as it doesn’t reduce your movement speed and I think its a VERY good DPS counter (especially for Troll) on any hero.

Numerous other items has had their recipe costs reduced or even removed :

Eye of Skadi recipe is now just $750

Sange and Yasha no longer needs a recipe

Mask of Madness recipe is now $1000

Maelstrom is now just $900, and you need a Gloves of Haste and Mithril Hammer to make it, the item also gives different stat bonuses.

Diffusal blade is now upgradable by one level (burns more mana)

Manta Style got a HUGE nerf which is quite disappointing as you can no longer summon clones or burn mana with it, you get movement speed and stat bonuses AND you can summon images and burn mana, and the recipe requires an Ultimate orb and a Yasha, with no recipe cost.

Mithril Hammer is now $1600

Monkey King Bar now gives +80 damage and a passive ability “True Strike” which causes none of your attacks to miss. I’m not sure how this works with evasion and terrain, but if it cancels it out, this item is a Mortred killer and is just totally insane.

Headdress of Rejuvenation is now $200

Lothar’s Edge recipe is now Claymore and Quarterstaff plus $1100

Butterfly now requires Eaglehorn, Quarterstaff AND Talisman of Evasion.

And last but not least, Aghanim’s Scepter now works for 19 heroes with various CD reductions and enhancements. The recipe is now a Point Booster plus either 2 Staffs of Wizardry, 2 Ogre Axes or 2 Blade of Alacrities plus a recipe cost of $1100.

Radiance is now cheaper (1325 recipe), and deals 40 dps in an area, up from 35 dmg per sec but the 8% miss chance is removed.

Pudge - deals 3x your STR in damage per second, absorbs damage

    tried a pretty recent map maby not the same one but close to it, sorry not sure but i guess it is
    1, scepter needs either 2 of the following, meaning it can be blades and axe,or any other mix, (dint think to try 2 blades)
    2,tauren’s stomp and spirit link have a synergy, if spirit is active then it also casts stomp (duuno if and how they overlap)
    3 force staff is potentially as bad as butcher with dagger, grate for jungle chasing as can cut through trees and jump over cliffs (so a shorter version of leap that can e cast on an enemy, we all know potm gets stuck so we can force enemies stuck)
    4. even though text does not say manta style still has images
    5. poor man shield more useless than magic stick (block only hero dmg, while vanguard and stout shield (60% block chance) got buffed)
    6. if they dont remove the imges from manta i say naga and pl got buffed (+ms more charges) also make manta usefull for anti mage

    Razors passive is not for getting hit by attacks, its for getting hit by spells.

    Great stomp seems completely overpowered atm, but the stung length seems somewhat randomed out(probably based on postioning), and since the enemies het a buff called “Great stomp” without any description on them, and they don’t get any swirlyswirlies above them but instead some yellow light-thingy, I’m assuming it’s somehow different from a stun and not quite as overpowered as it seems right now.

    Ancestral charge is actually rather powerful harrassment, can be used to stun as it stomps while you do, and has incredible killing power. Thing is, you hurt everything shukuchi-style, while the ghost is out, not just the ghost, and anything touching you and the ghost while you touch eachother also get hurt, each damagesource triggering only once per target. This can deal incredible damage to heroes and completely devastate any creepwave.

    The aura reduces armor by a percentage, anything standing close to it once maxed out will be having zero armour, therefore, far more powerful than prescence of the darklord, magic resistance probably works the same way.

    Earth splitters damage may seem weak, but it’s actually 33% of your max healt, quite a lot in the end, and the range is just incredible.

    Finally, mantastyle still has it’s images, and unlike before, they can be out at the same time as naga sirens illusions (probably CK’s too) thereby buffing her to a ridiculous level. And Ghost Scepter is not invulnerability, it’s a banishment, making you uncapable of attacking or being attacked, spells are still valid on both sides. You also missed the change to radiance and divine rapier. Radiance is now cheaper (1325 recipe), and deals 40 dps in an area, rather than the earlier 35, but the overpowering (lol), 8%dodge is removed.
    Rapier back too 250.

    Remake on Gorgon too for that matter, chain lighting and purge changed to “mystical snake” (Some weird manabased, chainlightinglike rather cool skill) and Stone Gaze, basically an area off effect purge on anything looking at her, with a longer cooldown.

    But I think you misunderstood me, the ultimate deals 33% of the target’s max health in damage, not yours as in Ursa style:P Just try it in wtf mode on some neutral creeps, you’ll notice everything dies from exactly three hits from this thing, also, the aoe is a lot wider than it looks.

    Sorry for bitchin’ around, but I didn’t want to be misunderstoodXD

    Dun be dumb, reduction to magic dmg is a big buff, unlike reduction to armor. Imagine u wave for 300 damage, 25% natural reduction make it 225. Lets say the magic reduction is reduce by 25%, u do 300 damage fully, which is 33% more damage.

    @Ghost Scepter:
    This is Spirit Form ability, turn u into Ethereal form. Never play melee before? Ethereal cant be damaged physically, but take extra dmg from spell. Yes, same xtra damage just like decrepify.
