The Undisputed Truth

Even Fidel Castro thinks the Summit was too expensive. Though a little diplomatic in saying it, these are his words :

“Are a true extravaganza of culture and at the same time of luxury.”

“I did some thinking. I calculated how much all that would cost and I suddenly realized that no other country in the Caribbean could afford the luxury of putting on a similar show, that the seat of the summit is immensely rich, a sort of United States surrounded by small poor countries.”

“Could Haitians with their extremely rich culture, or Jamaica, Grenada, Dominica, Guyana, Belize or any other, host such a luxurious summit?

Yep, in a nutshell he’s saying we waste money on shit like we’re Americans. While I am no supporter of Castro, he now represents an external voice that has criticized the obvious summit wastage.

It was also finally confirmed today that NOONE EXCEPT MANNING SIGNED THE DECLARATION OF PORT-OF-SPAIN!!. WHAT A PATENT EMBARASSMENT AND FAILURE!!

Prime Minister Patrick ‘I’m-gonna-sign-my-own-damn-declaration’ Manning gave a live interview tonight on CNC3 with Shelly Dass. I sat through the agony of his megalomania, condescending responses with Ms. Dass and then they took live calls from viewers. Again I was just in amazement at the intelligence of the average Trinidadian. 100% of the callers congratulated Mr. Manning on a “good job”. They were all proud of him and their country in hosting this “grand event”. One even went as far as to say that Trinidad would have spent more money marketing the country internationally if it were to do so without hosting the Summit…..so in other words, hosting the Summit was a bargain!!
