The Undisputed Truth

Well you might have heard by now that there is an ongoing discussion about what happened between Perez Hilton and Miss California.

In summary, Perez Hilton (real name Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr.) was a judge on the panel of the Miss USA beauty pageant (for what reason I don’t know) and asked Miss California what she thought about gay marriage (again why such a controversial question, for what reason I do not know). Miss California responded by saying that she believes marriage should be between a man and a woman. See video of this below :

Miss North Carolina went on to win the Miss USA title.

This wouldn’t have been an issue if Hilton didn’t throw a bitch-fit all over the Internet and Cable. On MSNBC :

Perez Hilton has since referred to Miss California as a ‘bitch’ for which he later ‘apologized’, then said he meant to call her a ‘cunt’.

Donald Trump and other observers in the media and from the pageant have hinted that Miss California’s “controversial” answer on gay marriage cost her the title.

Miss California (Ms. Carrie Prejean) thought so herself today, stating : “I stated an opinion that was true to myself and that’s all I can do.”

I gathered from the interviews that Ms. Prejean is a decent, religious, highly-opinionated person. I commend her for being real and stating how she truly feels and answering the question from her heart rather than giving those rainbow and butterfly answers we typically hear at these pageants (I want to be an astronaut, I want to feed every child in Africa, I want to b zi Iraq such as).

However, if she is so opinionated and whatever, why did she enter a beauty pageant? When told that Perez Hilton called her those offensive names, she said that she will be praying for him. Ok…did you pray for yourself as well when you donned a bikini and paraded for a bunch of men to “judge” you? I’m just saying she’s being a tad hypocritical.

Hilton on the other hand is ofcourse a fucking idiot. He is and always has been an attention whore who makes roughly $100,000 a month from just being an annoying, ubiquitous eyesore with his ridiculous hair colors and offensive comments and ‘news’ on his blog. He is being uber-hypocritical by being angry at Ms. Prejean for her opinion, and he is being downright disgusting and distasteful by insulting her.

The issue about gay marriage is tolerance. Do you tolerate same-sex marriages? We’re not asking if you want to have one, but do you think its ok? How then could a gay man, someone who I assume is asking/fighting for same-sex tolerance in America, be INTOLERANT to anyone who doesn’t support it??? Why couldn’t he respect her opinion and judge her fairly?

Its really sad that Ms. Prejean has become a victim of liberal America.  Just watching the news you would think Perez Hilton and the other spineless officials and participants of the pageant who are afraid of being in the hot seat with Ms. Prejean such as Ms. Vermont and Shanna Moakler, a former Miss USA, you’d think Ms. Prejean was some kind of red-neck, conservative minority.

A CBS News poll conducted March 12-26, 2009 asking the following question :

“Which comes closest to your view? Gay couples should be allowed to legally marry. OR, Gay couples should be allowed to form civil unions but not legally marry. OR, There should be no legal recognition of a gay couple’s relationship.”

Showed that atleast 67% of Americans DO NOT support gay marriage

A Pew Research Center/Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life survey poll asking:

“Do you strongly favor, favor, oppose, or strongly oppose allowing gays and lesbians to marry legally?” (Margin of error three percent)

Showed that 49% oppose and 13% are unsure.

This means that Ms. Prejeans’s answer isn’t as radical as it is being made into by ironically, a radical, Perez Hilton. He has already won this debate as his asinine blog is surely getting a lot of extra traffic from lucky souls who did not know of his existence up until now.

So basically :

1. Perez Hilton is wrong. He is wrong to victimize Ms. Prejean by giving her low points at the pageant, he is definitely wrong in insulting her in the most distasteful way a man, gay or straight, can, and he is hypocritical as he being nothing more than a gay bigot who is fighting bigotry.
2. Gay marriage isn’t something totally accepted by most Americans. The polls show that Americans who support gay marriage are a minority. The Miss USA beauty pageant was therefore hijacked by ultra-liberalist, bigoted judges.
3. Ms. Prejean was unfortunate as a result of this and would have been a great choice because she is obviously intelligent and outspoken, a rare feature of beauty queens.
4. Perez Hilton once again gets paid off being an asshole.
