We take that finger lickin’ good chicken seriously.
Its textbook brand loyalty, Trinis love KFC.
No, not fried chicken, but Kentucky Fried Chicken. Popeye’s, and all other local alternatives probably wish they had just a third of the dedicated customers of KFC at their door. For breakfast, lunch and dinner on any day of the week a 2 piece chicken meal with fries is acceptable to most people in Trinidad.
An amazing fact to put into perspective the extent of this obsession :
KFC on Independence Square, POS once had the highest sales record for a single branch in KFC’s worldwide.
That’s more than China, with the 1.3 BILLION people living there.
….Trinidad’s population is 1.3 MILLION.
Per capita, 1.3 million Trinis eat more KFC than 1.3 BILLION Chinese people.

KFC has truly infiltrated the culture of Trinidad. Probably the second word that came out of my little brother’s mouth was “Kenkucky Fied Kicken”.
